Zülfü Karabulut, born in 1984 in Elazığ, is an athlete who competed professionally in athletics and cycling for many years before transitioning to triathlon. Throughout his sports career, he participated in over 600 races, winning the Turkish championship in triathlon 3 times and in duathlon 10 times, while also breaking national records. He has represented our country internationally many times, achieving a second-place finish in the duathlon Balkan Championships in 2013. He is the first and only Turkish athlete to compete professionally in Ironman races and represent Turkey in the pro triathlete category.
He has studied mechanical engineering at Fırat University and sports management at Gazi University, and holds numerous coaching certificates. He currently serves as a national team coach and a member of the technical committee under the Turkish Triathlon Federation. His time of 4 hours and 7 minutes in the Antalya Ironman race has been recorded as the best middle-distance triathlon time in Turkey.
